Bishop Harry S. Grayson, known as an honorable, dignified, wise and anointed Man of integrity and servant of God, pastors the Messias Temple Church congregation with an overwhelming vote by the congregation in September 1991. His installation was held in January 1992 by Bishop Willie Burrell. Bishop Grayson has seen many “Restored” to their walk with the Lord, and approximately 1,728 souls baptized in the name of Jesus, with many of that number filled with the Holy Ghost.
Bishop’s compassionate, outgoing spirit is evident in the “We Care We Share” Hot Meals ministry, which he implemented in his early years of the pastorate, which now feeds over 10,000 people yearly. The “We Care We Share” ministry is a powerful entity of Bishop Grayson and the Messias Temple Church, where people are fed weekly and clothing is provided to help the homeless and families that have been negatively affected by the economy. The yearly budget is now over 100K per year.
Bishop Grayson most recently served as the Vice Chairman of the Northern District Council of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Inc. from 2014 until June 2018, and was reelected at the June 2018 NDC Council, however, because of his appointment as the Diocesan Bishop of the 60th Diocese of the PAW( Western Cape, Cape Town South Africa), he has relinquished that position to fulfill his duties as the Diocesan. He has also served as a member of the International Missions Board of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Inc.
Bishop Grayson received the Holy Ghost in the Summer of 1967. Since that time, God put a fire in him that has not been quenched. In June of 1978, (then) Elder Grayson received his Ministerial License to “Preach the Gospel, Baptize, and assist in any other work of the ministry.” During this time of ministry, Elder Grayson was a faithful steward and was the official “baptizer” and served faithfully on many other auxiliaries.
In June of 1995, Elder Grayson received his Ordination Papers. Hence, during the Council in March of 1999 Pastor Grayson was elevated to the office of District Elder; and in the year 2011 he was elevated to the office of Suffragan Bishop.
Last year Bishop Harry S. Grayson was duly elevated to the office of Diocesan Bishop of the 60th Episcopal District Council of the Western Cape, South Africa, under the leadership of Presiding Bishop Charles H. Ellis III at the 2018 Summer Convention in Atlanta, Georgia.
Bishop Grayson’s outreach ministry has taken him to the continent of Africa to Cairo, Egypt and also to Harare Zimbabwe, in West Africa where he preached for ten days and was able to leave a financial contribution that helped to complete the funding needed for a new church sanctuary and the beginning phases of building a new medical clinic, which was named in his honor.
Bishop Grayson resides in Ypsilanti, Michigan with his lovely wife, Lady Mary, where they raised their son, Evan Joshua and twin daughters, Maya Britney and Shari Whitney, and one granddaughter Olivia.
